CONFERENCE - OVERINDEBTEDNESS AND CONSUMER BANKRUPTCY LAW - Experts from all over the world meet in Berlin next month.
The most renowned legal scientists in this area come together in Berlin. The programme is annexed below.

Within the frame of the Law and Society Association many ECRC as well as IACL members will come together in Berlin in July to discuss the questions of how the law can effectively cope with consumer overindebtedness. The number of scientists from law and social science allow a thorough discussion based on facts and less on ideologies. The neo-liberal approach of "educating consumers out of poverty" while deregulating the supplier side will certainly be put in question by the enormous number of contributions from all over the world.

While Panel 1 is on Consumer Credit Regulation, panel 2 deals with Bankruptcy Filing Rates and the Reasons Therefore. Panel 3 and 8 introduce third world speakers with Political Economy of Consumer Bankruptcy and Overindebtedness and panel 4 focuses on debt collection while No 5 treats debt adjustment programmes and No 6 payment plans. In panel 7 the ECRC issue of responsible credit is taken up.

The conference is probably the most important academic event which parallels our efforts in ECRC to bring together science and practice in the quest for responsible credit in the world. ECRC members will be active in this conference and have closely cooperated in its genesis.
