Convergence of insolvency frameworks within the EU
In the context of the 2015 Capital Markets Union Action plan and Internal Market Strategy, the European Commission is in the process of preparing a legislative initiative addressing certain aspects of substantive insolvency laws. This initiative will follow up on the Commission Recommendation of 2014 on a new approach on business failure and insolvency.

Registration for the conference on " Convergence of insolvency frameworks within the European Union - the way forward " organised by the European Commission on the 12th July 2016 in Brussels is now open.
The conference will take place under the auspices of the Slovak Republic Presidency and aims at bringing together Member States' representatives, representatives of national Parliaments, business and consumer organisations, insolvency practitioners, researchers and other experts, for an open exchange of views on the key aspects of insolvency in the EU.
