GREECE: PETITION - Overindebted households need more flexible treatment from creditors, sign the petition calling for responsible credit via debt adjustment. Greek ECRC partner EKPIZO has started a petition on Avaaz.org for fairer treatment of indebted households and forbearance on unsustainable mortgage repayments. In summary, this petition has to do with their effort to: 1. Prevent bank foreclosure auctions on the property of over-indebted Greeks (natural persons and professionals) 2. Suspend auctions on foreclosed properties for at least 3 years 3. Exercise pressure on the government to take measures for debt adjustments and settlements that correspond to the real financial capacity of debtors.
