Financial Education/Entertainment – Prof Lauren Willis has posted an interesting blog entry on the Credit Slips website that warns that the trend toward gamification must be monitored for effectiveness as there are certain goals of better financial outcomes via financial education that it will not deliver on..

As games have increasingly been sponsored by the financial industry as a method of teaching young people various important lessons about financial affairs, while consumer engagement and confidence in the subject may be enhanced, there are still many drawbacks from these educational/entertainment methods as outlined in this article.
