BRUSSELS 2007! Workshop 5: "Credit for the “Poor”: Microlending or Bank Loans?" - Questions from Benoit Granger |
W5: CREDIT FOR THE “POOR”: MICRO-LENDING OR BANK LOANS?
Example of the type of questions to be directed at the panellists (suggested by Chairman of the session Benoit Granger)
- Are loans officers in traditional banks able to deal with micro business ? (do the banks invest in that field?)
- If BDS are necessary (business development services) to secure the loans, who pays ?
- What role do interest rate ceilings play?
- Are scoring techniques (from consumer credit) really efficient in micro business lending ?
- Do we recommend protective rules for micro entrepreneurs, similar to those developed for consumers, and how should they be designed? |
