Consumer protection – What can consumer credit law learn from tenancy law and vice-versa - Project Meeting in Tarragona, Spain - June 18 and 19
It is increasingly obvious that the distinction between money credit and other forms of credit in which foreign capital is used is artificial and prevents to focus on common issues in the protection of the users of such capital. In housing the English and American subprime crisis has made it ever more obvious that the so-called home-owners are factually tenants of the banks who accomplish the task of the landlords but without the restrictions ordinary landlords have to observe. Foreclosures and the cancellation of a tenancy relation are the same. In the www.EuSoCo.eu project (Trento) which will soon have its first book after seven years of international research tenancy, credit and labour relations are already compared in a legal perspective. Economics should do the same. This is why the EuSoCo project has collaborated with the TenLaw project who holds its first international conference in Taragona. Iff is also represented in their advisory board.
We publish their agenda.
