BRUSSELS CONFERENCE 2007 – Approaching the 100 mark for registrations from all over the World. Conference Programme, Translation and Social Events finalised.
As of July 23rd 2007, almost 100 persons from all over the world as far as America, Japan, South Africa and of course most European States, have already expressed their intention to be part of the dialogue which is taking place in Brussels. Thanks to our main sponsors Citigroup and Deutsche Bank as well as the help from GE Money and Consumer Organisations we will be able to hold a conference where participants will be able to talk in English, French and German and understand each other in English or French. A number of banks will be present to benefit from the unique opportunity this event represents to them to talk to stakeholders in responsible financial services from more than 80 institutions and organisations. This time, alongside the European Parliament and the European Economic and Social Committee, the Council of the EU and the European Commission will also participate in our debates. Debt and money advice practitioners, experts in financial education, consumer protection, alternative financing, and groups dedicated to anti-poverty, anti-discrimination and corporate responsibility will present the experiences from more than 25 countries. We will have an electronic voting system so that people can find out how others on the different sides of the market or in the different countries think about crucial questions like cross selling of credit insurance, revolving credit and credit cards, financial education at school, which form of banking is the most promising for social advocacy, who else but consumer organisations defend consumer rights, what banks do in the third world or the new accession countries and also why Microfinance has to be evaluated on its merits and not only on its promises.

Find out from our programme who you want to meet or speak to and address ECRC personnel at the conference to make the desired contacts. Included in the participation fee are meals and social events. The conference is also a unique opportunity to present your non-for-profit organisation for free to the world and arrange trans-national cooperation. Besides the coalition partners of ECRC and NCRC, the event will be supported by the International Association of Consumer Law and the European Consumer Debt Network as well as FEBEA, the alternative bankers' group.

Below is a link to the conference webpage where you will find the latest programme and registration form.

We look forward to greeting you in Brussels for the 2-day event.
